Welcome to 2025 8th International Conference on New Media Studies (CONMEDIA)
On behalf of the committee, we are delighted to announce that Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN), Indonesia, in collaboration with Multimedia University (MMU) Malaysia, will host the 2025 Joint Conference CONMEDIA, ICON-SONICS, and COMNEWS (CIC 2025). The conference will be held at MMU Campus Malacca, Malaysia, on October 14 to 17, 2025.
This year’s conference theme, “Empowering a Sustainable Future Through AI and Human-Machine Communication”, is organized jointly with the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics and the Faculty of Communication, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, Indonesia, and co-organized with Multimedia University (MMU), Malaysia.
All presented papers will be submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore Digital Library
This joint conference—bringing together CONMEDIA, ICON-SONICS, and COMNEWS (CIC 2025)—provides a unique platform to explore how the intersection of AI, HMC, media, and communication technologies can foster a more sustainable future. By uniting experts from diverse fields, the event aims to showcase cutting-edge research, share innovative strategies, and spark collaborations that will advance technological innovation and environmental stewardship.
CONMEDIA focuses on the role of AI and human-machine interfaces in media technologies, discussing how they can enhance sustainability through more ingenious content creation, distribution, and audience engagement. ICON-SONICS explores how AI and IoT systems, combined with advanced communication frameworks, can reduce energy consumption and support green infrastructure. Meanwhile, COMNEWS explores how media and communication channels can promote sustainable practices and encourage global collaboration through AI-driven insights.
Together, these conferences form a comprehensive program that not only explores the latest developments in AI and HMC but also emphasizes their potential to drive sustainable innovation. From optimizing smart city networks to advancing climate-friendly communication technologies, this joint effort highlights the critical role that intelligent systems can play in addressing environmental challenges.
We invite researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers to engage in this exciting dialogue and discover how AI and Human-Machine Communication can empower a sustainable future for all.
